[Sam took in a short breath, keeping his jaw set tight. He didn't want to snap at his brother, but he really didn't appreciate being told that he wasn't supposed to go looking for his girlfriend who had been upgraded to an actual missing persons case. He wasn't married to her so the amount of information they'd give to the "suspicious boyfriend" who was "conveniently out of town" before she went missing.

This was keeping him sane. This was what was keeping him on the road with his brother, because he assumed eventually he'd get that lead and he'd need his brother to help him.
